On Tuesday 1st October, a Williams driver will be one race away from NASCAR glory. Who are they, you ask? Introducing Parker White.
After 17 races, Parker secured his place in the 2024 eNASCAR iRacing Series Championship Round after a stellar first season in the Williams Esports #53 machine.
With one win, eight top-five finishes and 113 laps led, the 18-year-old American who races out of Norridgewock, Maine, comfortably secured his spot in next Tuesday’s grand final.
Parker joined the team ahead of the 2024 season...
Alongside the three other finalists, he will travel to the NASCAR Hall of Fame to compete for the top prize of $100,000.
Parker heads into the Championship Round with plenty of momentum behind him, having won the penultimate race two weeks ago.
For those that have followed eNASCAR over the last few years, it is perhaps no surprise that Parker is in title contention, having burst onto the scene in 2023.
He finished P12 in his rookie campaign and his signing for Williams was a real statement of intent.
Having first been introduced to the world of eNASCAR when it was broadcast on US television in 2020, he quickly found his footing in the sport.
His talents aren’t just limited to eNASCAR, having also competed in the Porsche Esports Supercup (PESC) and various endurance races this year.
Back to eNASCAR and Parker is not our only entry in the series — after all, it is a team sport. Donovan Strauss, who is in his third year with the team, races our #51 machine and together they have built a solid platform for us to compete on.
Remember that win we mentioned last time out? Well, it was an historic Williams Esports 1-2, with Parker leading Donovan over the line.
We are the only British entry in eNASCAR this season, and head into Round 18 leading the Teams’ Championship, meaning a potential double title is up for grabs.
“When I started watching this series, I thought there was no way I’m ever going to be racing in this series,” Parker shared after his Round 17 victory.
“[In] my first year last year, I didn’t think I would be in the playoffs! Even at the start of this year, my season started very well and I was like “Maybe I’ll make the playoffs”... I made the playoffs.
"Now I’m going to go to Charlotte to race for a Championship, so I could not be more excited to be in this position.”
Round 9 saw us race in FW14B-inspired liveries...
Donovan might not be in title contention himself but will do all he can to help bring home both the Driver and Team Championships next week.
“I was giving it all I had, but I’m happy to get Williams our first-ever 1-2!” the Georgia native explained.
"I can’t thank team management enough for bringing me on for another year, and Parker on [to the team].
“We’re going to go fight for a Team Championship and a Driver Championship, so it’s been a hell of a year and I’m going to support Parker all I can at Homestead.”
Donovan is in his third eNASCAR season with Williams...
But why do we, one of Formula 1’s most historic teams, have an entry in eNASCAR?
Founded in 2018, we became the first F1 side to launch an Esports organisation. In 2019, we entered eNASCAR for the first time and we haven’t looked back since. Running the famous Williams name on virtual stock cars allowed us to reach out to an entirely new audience and become part of a new community.
Now we're looking for the crown! The Championship Round will see Parker and Donovan race around Miami Homestead Speedway and is live from 8pm EST on Tuesday 1st October!
