Ollie Gray to race in Formula 3 with Carlin in 2023

Following a successful 2022 season, Williams Racing Academy driver Ollie Gray will race for Carlin in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship.

The British driver will make the step up to Formula 3 after a very positive 2022 campaign in British Formula 4 with Carlin.

“I’m really excited to be stepping up to F3 with Carlin Racing in 2023,” Ollie commented, before saying: “and to be continuing my partnership with Williams Racing as an Academy Driver.

“It’s going to be a big challenge but I’m really looking forward to it and to work with the team, who I get along with really well.

“Thanks again to Williams Racing and Carlin and I look forward to some good results in 2023.”

During his 2022 season, Ollie claimed two race wins at Silverstone and Croft, 16 podiums and two pole positions to finish second in the championship.

Ollie will continue to work closely with the Williams team at Grove as part of his Academy role to aid in his development as a driver.

Sven Smeets, Sporting Director at Williams Racing has been happy with the progress made by Ollie in his first year within our Academy, sharing: “After a very strong season in British Formula 4, we felt it was only right for Ollie to make the natural progression to Formula 3 with Carlin.

“Throughout his first year as part of our Driver Academy, Ollie’s shown his talents on the track with numerous wins and podiums and while at Grove where he’s worked with the team.

“We look forward to supporting his development in 2023 and seeing what he can achieve in F3.”
