As part of this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, Williams Racing will be out in full force. Several iconic cars will take part in the hillclimb with Williams Racing drivers and ambassadors behind the wheel, the winning livery from the Williams Racing x Gulf fan voted livery competition will be on display for fans to see and much more.
The winning livery from the Williams Racing x Gulf fan voted competition (which can be voted for at www.williamsf1.com), will be exclusively displayed on an FW45 showcar at the Williams Racing stand where fans can see the livery up close. The winning design will then appear on both FW45 race cars over the Singapore, Japan and Qatar Grands Prix.
Over the course of this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, past and present Williams Racing drivers will take part in the famous hillclimb in Keke Rosberg’s race winning FW08C. Williams Academy driver Jamie Chadwick will be in the car on Friday followed by Formula 1 drivers Logan Sargeant and Alex Albon on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Finally, 2009 Formula 1 World Champion and Williams Racing Brand Ambassador Jenson Button will be amongst the action on Sunday.
The FW19-06 which was driven by Jacques Villeneuve and Heinz-Harald Frentzen in 1997, which claimed the Constructor’s Championship and Villeneuve the Drivers’ Championship, will also take part in the hillclimb over the weekend.
The iconic Williams FW15C will also be on display to mark the 30th anniversary of both Williams Racing’s and Alain Prost’s 1993 Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championships.
Four-time Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel will drive Nigel Mansell’s title-winning 1992 Williams FW14B running on sustainable fuel on Saturday and Sunday.
