A redemption race victory for Lia Block is the highlight from the final rounds of the 2023 Extreme E Championship

The 2023 motorsport calendar is starting to wind down for the year, particularly for the members of the Williams Racing Driver Academy.
Just one driver was in action this past weekend, with Lia Block competing in Round 9 and 10 of the 2023 Extreme E Championship. Read on below to find out more.

Lia Block - Extreme E

Lia Block headed to the stunning landscape of Antofagasta, Chile last weekend for the season-ending final rounds of the 2023 Extreme E Championship.
Lia has been competing for Carl Cox Motorsport in the all-electric off-road racing series since Round 5, and unsurprisingly she hit the ground running at the Copper X-Prix.
Alongside her teammate Timo Scheider, they secured P3 in both their qualifying heats for Round 9 across the 3.05km course in the Atacama Desert, but that wasn’t enough to secure them a spot in the Grand Final.
Instead, it was a spot in the Redemption Race, with the pair both enjoying untroubled runs to race clear of the JBXE and Chip Ganassi Racing teams to cross the line in P1.
Onto Round 10 and a P3 and P4 in their qualifying heat put the Carl Cox Motorsport team in P7 and into the Redemption Race for the finale.
Timo was on a charge but before he could arrive at the switch zone to put Lia behind the wheel, a mechanical failure forced the team to end the third season of Extreme E with a DNF.
