With excitement mounting for the 2025 season and the 2026 regulation changes, Williams Racing continues to draw attention as a team on the rise. This week, a Formula 1 World Champion has highlighted our potential as a key contender in the coming years.
Alongside this praise, the arrival of Oliver Turvey from McLaren has been lauded as another crucial step in our journey of transformation.
From expert endorsements to strategic appointments, the spotlight remains firmly on our progress. Let’s dive into what the press have been saying about us this week.
Ones to Watch
Two-time Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso has tipped Williams as ones to watch in the coming seasons.
The Aston Martin racer — driving for a team who themselves have reason to be optimistic ahead of the regulatory overhaul — turned the spotlight on the Grove outfit in a recent interview with
DAZN, as covered by
Motorsport Week.
“If I were a journalist, or watching Formula 1 at home in front of the tube, I would mostly see Williams as a team to be reckoned with,” the Spaniard shared.

While Alonso sees great things ahead, a crucial part of that vision lies in another recent addition to the team.
Oliver Turvey joining from McLaren as our
new Test and Development Driver won’t draw the same headlines as some of the recent driver moves, but it should still be seen as a statement of intent.
Numerous outlets covered the story, including
Sports Illustrated who focused on how Turvey’s 15 years of experience at Woking will undoubtedly be of huge benefit at Grove.
Oliver arrived at Grove last week.
Star of the Future
Luke Browning’s 2024 was certainly one he’ll remember, getting to drive in Formula 3, Formula 2 and Formula 1 all in the space of 10 months.
The 22-year-old's rise has seen him listed in
Formula 1’s Next Gen list alongside 19 other youngsters.
2025 will see the Cheshire native compete in his first full F2 season with Hitech, as well as being the
most senior racer in the Williams Racing Driver Academy.
Preserving History
Ever wondered how we look after the nearly 50 years worth of machinery that tells the story of Williams Racing?
F1.com recently sat down with several members of our Heritage team, including Jim Barker, Heritage Car Build Assembly Manager.
“The cars are the ‘Crown Jewels’ of this company and some of the most iconic cars to ever grace the grid in F1,” Barker commented.
“We’re very proud of them, and it’s a lovely thing to be enthusiastic about your work.”
