Williams Racing is delighted to welcome experienced international marketeer and business strategist Andreas Schlegel to the team in the role of Heritage Director.
With a proven track record of growing businesses and business streams globally, Schlegel joins the team to leverage its rich heritage after fulfilling key strategic roles at global OEM’s including Aston Martin, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Daimler, Lotus and Volvo, and at international firm PWC Strategy&.
Williams Racing has one of the most illustrious histories in Formula One, having secured 16 F1 World Championship titles to its name since its foundation in 1977.
Williams Heritage was created in 2014 as a new division of the business to manage the team's collection of historic Formula One cars. This includes maintaining and curating the Williams Grand Prix Collection, and showcasing, selling and running the fleet of cars dating from the team's first Formula One season in 1978 to the most recently retired models.
Jost Capito, CEO and Team Principal: We are happy to welcome Andreas to the team. His experience in understanding new approaches to our business will help to drive forward an area of our business that is extremely important to Williams Racing.
Andreas Schlegel, Heritage Director: I’ve worked closely with motorsport teams across the globe and relish the opportunity to join Williams Racing. The history of this team is almost unrivalled, and I look forward to looking at how we can maximise the wonderful heritage.
