Logan Sargeant was our racer in the FIA’s pre-Spanish Grand Prix press conference on Thursday as he prepares to battle at a venue that has brought him success in the past.
Here’s what Logan had to say in front of the media.
On returning to a permanent circuit this weekend after a run of street tracks
It’s nice! I’ve had a lot of fun with it, to be honest, on the street tracks, but happy to get back to the tracks I know. I think it just makes my life a little bit easier. Not much, but a little bit.
I think as a team, it’s going to be a bit of a tricky weekend but we’ll do our best to get the most out of it.
Approaching a weekend at a permanent circuit compared to a street track
It just gives me the freedom to push a little bit harder, a little bit sooner and just find where I need to be heading into Saturday a little bit quicker.
After celebrating wins and podiums on the old layout, sharing what has been learnt on the simulator on the new final turns
I love this track, I’ve been here many, many times in the past, and it’s treated me extremely well, poles, wins and whatnot.
We’ll try to continue the good run of form here but, the last two corners look pretty intense, pretty epic.
I think it adds a bit of a twist, you’ll start to see both axles degrade, rather than just one. You’re going to have to manage a lot more in the race with the more high-speed corners.
On whether the last corner will be flat-out in Qualifying?
On Fernando Alonso racing and competing at the highest level into his 40s
I'm only six races in, I think it is truly remarkable and impressive, and it just shows the obsession to stay at a high level and compete with the best. It's definitely admirable.
