Find out more about one record we take with us from the 2024 season...

The 2024 Formula 1 season is officially in the books, and while there’s plenty to analyse, let’s take a moment to revisit an eye-catching moment you might well have missed.
It came during the Las Vegas Grand Prix, but if you blinked, you certainly would have missed it.
The team had rolled into Las Vegas bruised but not broken after an incredible team effort to get two cars ready at our Grove headquarters.
On Saturday night, under the lights of the Las Vegas Strip, Alex Albon took his FW46 to the max… quite literally.
Heading down Las Vegas Boulevard, Alex hit 369 km/h (229 mph) — the fastest speed recorded during a race all season. In fact, the last time a driver recorded that speed was Sebastian Vettel in Monza, 2019.
Think about that for a second: 369 km/h. That’s faster than most planes take off. But how did this happen?
Albono was running at the rear of a six-car DRS train and stayed in that position for the entirety of the 1.92km straight, hitting 13,194 rpm in 8th gear.
Famously, Williams are no strangers to speed records in Formula 1. Find out more by reading “How fast can a Formula 1 car go?
