Read how The Strategist and your rival players tackled Round 1

Australia saw the first round of the 2025 season for both our drivers to race. It also gave our Grove guru, known only as 'The Strategist', their first chance to place their predictions after the winter break.
Pit Wall Predictions, presented by Gulf, returned for another year of competition, and there couldn't have been a tougher start to a season than the Australian GP.
Nonetheless, one player saw through the chaos to somehow score 35 points in this opening round when our eight questions tripped up so many.
How did you fare, and could you beat The Strategist? Read on to find out!

Q1 & Q2: On which lap will Alex/Carlos make their first stop?

Any regular tyre strategy went out of the window as soon as the rain fell over Albert Park to cause Mother Nature to control the pit stop timing.
Alex ended up swapping from inters to slicks on Lap 33 during the second Safety Car – in the Lap 31+ bracket – which just 0.7% predicted.
Carlos sadly never reached the pit lane, with his DNF meaning "No Stop Made" was the correct answer, as 0.3% opted for.
No points for The Strategist here, who chose Lap 11-20 for both drivers.

Q3: How many full Safety Car periods will there be??

The lack of grip led to crashes, and the crashes led to three Safety Car slowdowns in this year's Aussie GP.
Well done to the 4.9% who somehow knew it was going to be a crazy race and ignored The Strategist's pick of 'One'.

Q4: Which Williams driver will set our fastest lap of the race?

Without Carlos getting a chance to show his Sunday speed, this question, of course, went to Albono and the 14.7% who backed our No23.
The Strategist didn't choose Alex for this race, and remains pointless at the halfway mark.

Q5 & Q6: What will Alex/Carlos' longest stint on the same set of tyres be?

Nursing tyres around Melbourne isn't new for Alex, and our tyre whisperer took his first set of inters to Lap 33 to make "Lap 31+" the right answer.
Only 9.7% of you got this right, including The Strategist, who scores their first 2025 points.
No points for them choosing "Lap 31+" for Carlos, though, but a fortune-telling 1.5% picked up five points for choosing "1-10 laps" on this question

Q7 & Q8: Which tyre will Alex/Carlos end his race on?

Even though Carlos' race ended early, he was on the same compound as Alex when he retired, meaning "Intermediates or Wets" was the right answer here.
That's something 23.1% (Alex) and 22.7% (Carlos) correctly predicted.
We're not sure if The Strategist checked the weather forecast when they made their picks, or thought the track would've dried enough for their selection of "Hard" Pirellis for Carbono.
The Strategist's Score: 1/8
Not the start to the season that The Strategist would've wanted, but they still fared better than nearly half of players — 49.2% scored zero points in Melbourne.
Just two players had the foresight (or luck) to predict 6/8 or more, with one player on 35 points and one on 30.
Fortunately for The Strategist, China is just around the corner, and they'll have a chance to turn things around in Shanghai on Sunday when Pit Wall Predictions returns.
Make your picks from Tuesday until lights out for your chance to score big.
