Discover what Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz got up to over the break

The Formula 1 off-season allows us all to take a break, spend time with family and relax before the new campaign.
The same goes for Formula 1 drivers who get a rare chance to break away from their hectic schedule to recharge their [Duracell] batteries prior to ramping up their preparations for the next season.
Here’s what Carbon have been getting up to.

Alex Albon

Our resident Cat Dad and Chill Guy, Alex Albon, has certainly made the most of his downtime.
Albono has been ticking off bucket-list destinations and recharging for what’s shaping up to be a thrilling 2025 season. First stop? The Maldives, where, alongside Lily He, he soaked up the sun, crystal-clear waters, and the vibes only a true tropical paradise can offer.
But they didn’t stay off-grid for long. Next, they traded beaches for a bustling cityscape, heading for Tokyo to immerse themselves in the neon-lit streets, world-class cuisine and some incredible culture.
Now, it’s back to business. With his sights firmly set on his fourth season with Williams, Alex has thrown himself into his pre-season training camp - keep your eyes peeled for some exclusive content, coming soon.

Carlos Sainz

Carlos Sainz has kept busy this off-season, blending nostalgia with some well-earned time away from the track.
The break started in style with a Fiorano finale, where Carlos was reunited with his first-ever race-winning Formula 1 car. It wasn’t just a solo affair either, as his father, Carlos Sainz Sr., joined him for his first taste of F1 machinery.
From the roar of V6 Turbo-Hybrid engines to the whisper of ocean waves. Like his new teammate, Carlos turned to the Maldives to unwind, the perfect setting to reset for the year ahead.
But it wasn’t long before the work resumed. Carlos jumped straight into training with members of Team CS55, sharpening up ahead of his new adventure.
Yesterday, he arrived at Grove for the first time – the dawn of an exciting new chapter.
