Williams Racing fans to design the look of the FW46’s rear wing for the US Grand Prix as part of our ground-breaking partnership with Kraken

Williams Racing fans will design the look of the FW46’s rear wing for October’s United States Grand Prix as part of our ground-breaking partnership with Kraken.
Supporters registered with our pioneering Grid Pass programme will also get the chance to have their own collectibles featured on the car under the second annual Rear Wing Takeover contest.
Under the latest initiative to provide unrivalled experiences for fans, Kraken and Williams are today announcing a new Williams Racing Collectibles+ collection, the Cosmos Collection. Designed by leading web3 artist CandyApple, the 100,000-strong PFP collection features 10 different character types ranging from cats to dragons to krakens with over 130 unique traits integrated with iconic Williams Racing Branding.
They will be airdropped to Grid Pass holders, who can then submit their collectibles to be included in the rear wing design for the United States GP in Austin on October 20. A shortlist of 12 will be put to a fan vote later in September, with the winners forming a unique livery enhancement for the cars driven by Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto and seen by hundreds of millions of people around the world.
It follows last year’s inaugural Rear Wing Takeover which saw Grid Pass holders compete to have their NFTs on the car, with tens of thousands of votes cast to select the final design for Austin. This year Williams Racing and Kraken have continued to bring bold innovations that bring fans closer to the action online and offline, including through city centre fanzones with perks for Grid Pass holders.
James Bower, Commercial Director, Williams Racing: “The Cosmos Collection brings Williams Racing’s proud F1 heritage to a new wave of digitally-savvy fans, and the Rear Wing Takeover is a unique chance for our supporters to decide what the FW46 will look like in Austin. Last year’s takeover generated huge interest and a brilliant design, and we can’t wait to see what fans will choose this time round.”
Mayur Gupta, CMO, Kraken: "The Rear Wing Takeover contest brings a new twist to one of KrakenNFT’s most popular 2023 events. The technology that powers cryptocurrency is ideal for creating fun, safe fan experiences via digital asset ownership. It's a great opportunity to collaborate with our Williams Racing partners and accelerate crypto awareness through sport.”
