Jenson Button is a man of many talents. You don’t need us to tell you that. 2009 World Champion, check. Top analyst and commentator, check. Brilliant Williams Racing Brand Ambassador, check. He’s also an all-round nice guy.
But JB has only gone and unleashed his rapid reflexes to set a new Guinness World Record for the most strikes on a Batak machine in 30 seconds.
Said machine is a favourite among Formula 1 drivers, and even made an appearance at our pop-up stores across the world in 2022. It’s used to test hand-eye coordination and reaction speed.
A number of bright LED cluster targets automatically light up at random, and then the aim of the game is to react as quickly as possible to strike the illuminated panel, one after the other. Your tally of accurate strikes is your Batak score.
Jenson broke the previous record (56, set by Iran’s Arshia Shahriarhi) with a whopping 58, to claim the official Guinness World Record, something he’s understandably chuffed about.
“Always nice to add a new trophy to the collection - and an official Guinness World Record at that," JB said.
"I set my unofficial record in my 20s, so it’s great to see that I’ve still got it, 20 years later."
If you want to test your skills on a Batak machine, keep an eye out on the official Williams Racing channels throughout the year, as we announce which fan activations we’re bringing to you in 2023.
