Alex’s early retirement meant it was a low-scoring round for the vast majority of fans, as well as for our secretive guru, ‘The Strategist’.

Q1: On which lap will Alex make his first stop?

Alex’s unfortunate Lap 1 collision meant he didn’t make a pit stop on Sunday, something just five Pit Wall Prediction Players called correctly.

Q2: On which lap will Franco make his first stop?

The low tyre degradation that Mexico City has a reputation for remained in 2024, and Franco just took his hards past Lap 31 to score points for those backing the Lap 31+ choice.
The Strategist was one of the 24% that got this right.

Q3: Which Williams Racing driver will pit first?

After what happened at Turn 1, Franco was the only Williams driver left in the race meaning the five points go to the 35% of players who selected him in Question 3.

Q4: How many pit stops will our drivers make between them?

We ended up making just one stop throughout the entire 2024 Mexico City Grand Prix and unsurprisingly this caught the vast majority of PWP players out.
Only 8% of fans selected “1 stop” ahead of the race.

Q6: How many full Safety Car periods will there be?

The incident that Alex was caught up in on Lap 1 brought out the Safety Car for the second race in succession. This would be the only time it was deployed, handing five points to 58% of players, including our Strategist.

Q7: Which tyre will Alex end his race on?

Alex had started the race on the medium tyre, meaning when his race came to an end at the end of the 1.2km main straight, this Pirelli rubber awarded points to 31% of players.

Q8: Which tyre will Franco end his race on?

Franco had started on the alternative strategy to Alex, meaning he was running on the medium tyre when he passed the chequered flag. 39% of players ended Round 20 with five more points added to their tally.
The Strategist's Score: 3/8
It's a middle-of-the-road performance for their lofty standards, as 26% of players also scored 15 points.
The most common score this week was 10 points, whilst congratulations to the 12 fans who each top-scored with 30 points.
Our Strategist is now P32 in the standings with 370 points to their name, 55 points adrift of our sole leader who sits P1 with 425 points.
Pit Wall Predictions, presented by Gulf, will be back for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix this weekend to give you eight more opportunities to score more points.
