Formula 1 is back for 2024 – and so is our free-to-play game, Pit Wall Predictions, presented by Gulf.
Each week you’ll be tasked with making eight predictions for the race, with five points awarded for each correct answer.
This is no easy task, but fear not. Our Grove guru – known only as ‘The Strategist’ – will be on hand ahead of each race weekend to offer some tips and insight to each of those eight questions.
Here are their recommendations for Round 1 in Bahrain:
Q1: On which lap will Alex make his first stop?
Lap 11-20. The start of the season is full of unknowns – this seems like the safest bet.
Q2: On which lap will Logan make his first stop?
Lap 11-20. Same story for Logan. If they start on the soft or medium compounds, this will be a likely pit window.
Q3: Which Williams Racing driver will pit first?
Alex. This was the case more often than not in 2023, and I expect it to follow in the same vein this year.
Q4: When the first Williams Racing driver pits, what position will they pit from?
P11-15. Our pace over the weekend so far suggests we’ll be on the cusp of the points positions when we make our first stop.
Q5: How many pit stops will our drivers make between them?
5+. Tyre degradation will be really interesting to watch this weekend.
Q6: How many full Safety Car periods will there be?
0. Bahrain tends to produce pretty clean races, with plenty of large run-off areas.
Q7: What tyre will Alex end the race on?
Hard. After I’ve backed him for a first stop between laps 11-20, it makes sense that he’d finish the race on a hard compound.
Q8: What tyre will Logan end the race on?
Similar story for Logan. In fact, I think their strategies will be pretty similar all weekend long.
That’s what The Strategist has to say, but do you agree? Get your predictions in before lights out on Saturday to make the best possible start to your Pit Wall Prediction season!
