Find out what Franco Colapinto shared over the Team Radio as his race came to an end in Mexico

After a positive Saturday that saw the team record our best Qualifying result in Mexico City for eight years, it was disappointing to leave the Mexican capital with no more points added to our tally.
When Alex Albon’s afternoon came to an end at Turn 1, it left Franco Colapinto as our sole representative in the Grand Prix.
Our Argentine racer finished as the lead racer on the alternative strategy, just a couple of positions shy of a points-paying result, meaning he maintains his run of top-12 finishes since his Monza debut.
Ed Regan (ER), Franco’s Race Engineer for the weekend, was quickly on the radio to our No43 post-race, as was our Team Principal, James Vowles (JV).
ER: OK, and that’s the chequered flag, chequered flag. So, that's P12.
FC: Yeah, I don't think we could have done much more than 11th, mate. I think we had a good pace. It's just those moments where I lost lap time, you know. With those overtakes and all that stuff. Plus then being behind Leclerc pushing, I destroyed my mediums, mate. So if we had maybe stopped one lap before, it would have been ideal.
ER: Yeah, copy that. We were having a look at the traffic behind and where you were going to drop out. And we were just trying to avoid cars after we'd pitted. But it was a mega job today. Well done.
JV: Well done, Franco. It's really impressive to see how you overtake cars, how you fight through traffic, how you keep the tyres under control. It's a really well-managed one-stop again. Bravo. Really well done. I agree with you that there's another place in it, but if we get it all together on the weekend, you've got points every weekend.
FC: Yeah, I agree. James, I agree. Let's try it again in one more week. Mate, you need to have a look at this steering wheel because when I turn right it's like I have no power steering or something.
ER: When we get the car back, we'll have a look at it.
FC: How many points did Alpine score?
ER: So, Gasly was P10, and then Ocon was behind you, so it's just the one for P10. So the result was Sainz, then Norris and Leclerc, P3. Hamilton, Russell, Verstappen, P6. Then Magnussen, Piastri, Hulkenberg and Gasly were the top ten.
FC: So they only scored one point?
ER: Correct, yeah.
FC: OK, OK. Good. Thank you, mate. Nice to work with you this weekend. Thank you. Thanks a lot for the effort.
ER: Thank you, Franco. It's been fun.
Both Franco and Alex will be back behind the wheel this weekend when we head to Interlagos for the São Paulo Grand Prix.
