Williams Advanced Engineering in Qatar has designed and built a unique immersive formula simulator (IFS) based on the technology used by the Williams F1 Team. The IFS is a transportable simulator system bringing participants at conferences, exhibitions, trade shows, corporate events and product launches a unique motorsport experience normally reserved for Williams F1 Team drivers and other professional drivers at the highest levels of motorsport.
The IFS is designed to provide a unique and previously inaccessible experience. The architecture and technology have their origins in the tools used to train the best drivers in the world. A large curved screen provides an immersive visual experience within the enclosed shell. A genuine historic Formula One chassis and driver controls bring the experience even closer to reality. Various displays around the system allow spectators to follow the action. The pit-wall control and viewing station mirrors what exists at Grand Prix and provides a themed participation experience for friends and family.
